I am sure there is similar under UK law to stop nonsense like "you put a nodding-dog on the back parcel shelf of your vehicle so you can't hold us responsible for the engine exploding". The principle being that manufacturers cannot simply void warranty claims unless the consumer did actually do something which caused the issue for which redress is being sought under warranty."The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 makes it illegal for companies to refuse warranty because you opened the device.
