Troubleshooting • Migrate SD to SSD

I have a raspberry pi 4 running for several years now.
I use it for various tasks and I've invested significant time configuring and setting it up.
I'd like to move from using SD card to an SSD card in order to improve both speed and reliability.
I tried 2 different methods to migrate my image from an exisiting SD to an SSD, without success:
1. Tried a procedure recommended by "helping ninja" using rpi-clone script. That didnt work.
2. Used win32imager to backup my SD, and wrote it to my SSD. That didn't work as well.
In both cases, after removing the card and booting, attached only to my USB SSD, nothing happened.
Unfortunatelly, I couldn't see a message, as I also failed to attach it to a screen (will open another thread on it).

Can you please help suggesting how I can migrate my existing instance into SSD?
Starting from a fresh raspbian is not an option, since, as explained, significant work was invested setting it up.

Thanks!
