Thank you for your reply. I am not planning to use it with an emulator but with an FPGA computer.
It seems that some monitors can handle it properly (not stretching it but keeping the 4:3 aspect ration with black bars on the sides) but some others stretch the same to 16:9 so I can not be sure until someone tries it (and there are monitors that have an OSD menu that offers both modes). As it is not an emulator I can not configure it in a config file like someone would do it in Linux.
