Sorry, you're still wrong. The OS does boot even without any display connected at all (i.e. in headless mode) so it booting doesn't depend on getting EDID from anywhere.you assume something I keep telling you.yes the display doesn't report anything.which ever hardware resolution your display reports as supported+Have you tried, like, reading the FAQ? Maybe I did ha!
Yep it won't boot at 720p and it won't boot without the HDMI getting an EDID from the monitor....err like using DVI which usually blocks it. I got as far as the green boot logo then nothing after, as the OS can't handle it.
Again.
here which you can't get at unless the system DOES actually boot....ahum!
It won't boot anything if I try to connect it to my samsung syncmaster cos it uses HDMI to a DVI connector.Settings -> System -> Raspberry Pi settings -> Display resolution also lists the resolutions your connected display reports as supported via EDID.
WILL NOT RUN.
So, what you're maybe trying to say is that there's something strange with the specific display setup you're using and nothing is displayed on the screen.
Also thanks for the lovely email correspondence, archived forever.
