From the padlock icon in your screen sharing window, can you tell what sort of peer-to-peer connection has been established?
The exact type of connection established is decided by a combination of your web browser and the rpi-connect software's WebRTC implementation but ideally both devices can freely communicate to the ports and host names listed in the documentation.
