Right now there are examples of distributers providing refunds for defective 13th and 14th generation Intel i9 CPUs, presumably because there is a shortage of working replacements.This still allows you to ask for a refund on any Pico2 you have purchased because you were not aware of the errata at the time of purchase and hence it was discovered to not be suitable for your intended use.
Since the warranty was extended to 5 years on those CPUs, Fido's tail is wagging at the thought there'll soon be a large supply of used high-end LGA1700 gaming motherboards on the market.
From what I can tell, one advantage of the E9 Pico erratum is that it's not causing the processor to self destruct.
