Ubuntu • Re: Ubuntu install hangs on Pi5

I recently purchased a Pi5 and used the Pi Imager to flash Ubuntu to my SD card. Everything appears to complete normally. When the Pi boots I go through the entire setup to the point of inputting username and password then all I get is the screen with the crown and a spinning circle. Then it just stays there. Let run like that overnight and it still never got past that.

I have searched and people seem to have a similar issue using NVME drives but say that their SD cards work fine. I get the same issue with two different SD cards.
What happens if you image a RPiOS to the SDCard and then boot it? If the Pi runs the RPiOS then the Pi hardware is good and you have a Ubuntu software problem.

For Ubuntu software problems, you will need to contact the Ubuntu forum.
