Three things, you missed that the OP is using buster, which means Samba 4.9.5, this is an ancient version of Samba, so I suggest the OP upgrades their OS to bookworm and use Samba from backports. If they have found a bug in Samba, they have zero chance of getting it fixed in 4.9.5Almost certainly a server configuration issue. Neither Windows nor the smb protocol understand symbolic links.
You need to do at least two things:
