Yes, you are using a Raspberry Pi so using Raspberry Pi compatible cameras would be a good approach to take if you want them to work.Guess I'm putting to much hurt on myself and should stick with a biased search of rpi cameras only.
They don't have to be official ones, there are a number of options available.
